TAAL BUILDING FACILITY AND EVENT POLICIES AND GUIDELINES
  1. The facility reservation in Taal Building operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority is given to Extension Training activities/events with approved proposals or letters signed by the Office of the Chancellor.
  2. Ensure that all required information in the Reservation Form is completely and accurately filled out to allow proper coordination and assistance for the activity/event.
  3. Each facility is equipped with furniture and equipment. The person in charge/users must exercise proper care to prevent accidents, damage, or loss. All items must be returned complete and in good condition after use.
  4. Cleanliness of hallways and stairways must be maintained at all times. Trash bins are provided around the Taal Building. Proper waste disposal helps maintain a clean environment for guests, faculty, and students.
  5. For activities requiring the use of the mess hall, percolator, plates, glasses, spoon and fork, and other utensils, facilitators must accomplish a requisition form and coordinate with Taal Building staff. Strict accountability applies; all utensils must be returned complete and in good condition.
  6. Wrapped candies and condiments are not allowed within the facilities. Only sandwiches/bread, water, and brewed coffee are permitted. Heavy meals such as pasta and lunch must be served exclusively in the mess hall.
  7. If water dispensers are needed, the person in charge must provide a gallon of water. Dispensers must be handled properly and returned in their original condition.
  8. For the use of view boards, projectors, microphones, or basic sound systems, the person in charge must coordinate with ICT or the Audio Room (PFM) for equipment requests and setup assistance.
  9. All lights, air-conditioning units, and faucets must be turned off before leaving the facility or comfort rooms.
  10. Event facilitators are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the facility after use.
  11. In line with environmental sustainability and pursuant to the Office of the President's Memorandum Order No. 374, S. 2023 and the Chancellor's Memorandum 23-040 on Solid Waste Management, the following must be strictly observed:
    • No Disposable Water Bottles: Bring personal tumblers or use campus water refill stations.
    • Buffet-Style Meals Only: Take only what can be consumed to reduce food waste.
    • No Single-Use Plastics: Prohibited items include plastic cups, straws, wrappers, containers, balloons, and similar disposables.
    • Practice CLAYGO: Clean As You Go must be strictly practiced.
    • Prohibition on Tarpaulins: Tarpaulins are not allowed pursuant to OUP Memorandum No. 323 S. 2023.
    • Proper Waste Segregation: Dispose of waste according to designated biodegradable, recyclable, and non-recyclable bins.
  12. The use of laminated paper products such as food containers, paper cups, and plates is strongly discouraged. A "Bring Your Own Container" policy applies for take-out food, and the use of personal tumblers/mugs is encouraged.
  13. For the guidelines on evacuation during earthquake and fire incidents, please refer to the attached Memorandum Order issued by the Action Center.
  14. The organizer must ensure that the facility is left clean and free from any damage after the activity/event.
ELEVATOR USE GUIDELINES
  1. The elevator is provided for safe and proper use only, primarily for PWDs, senior citizens, guests with mobility concerns, and authorized personnel during events.
  2. For events involving students, they are strictly prohibited from playing, loitering, or misusing the elevator.
  3. Do not jump, force doors, press buttons unnecessarily, or overload the elevator.
  4. In case of emergency, remain calm and do not panic.
  5. Press the Emergency/Alarm Button inside the elevator and wait for assistance.
